Who We Are

ARCO National Construction is an award-winning design-build firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. Our unique design-build approach has earned us a reputation for delivering the best solutions for our clients’ needs and an outstanding customer experience. As a top general contractor working in major markets nationwide, our experience and expertise span industry types, making us qualified to tackle even the most complex projects. Beyond our design and construction capabilities, ARCO fosters a best-in-class workplace culture for our associates and is committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work.

A Legacy Built to Last

In 1992, Dick Arnoldy and Jeff Cook founded ARCO as a single office in St. Louis, Missouri, with a dedication to making the construction process enjoyable for ARCO’s customers and associates. ARCO’s design-build approach and entrepreneurial business model made it truly unique among the competition and would attract repeat clients and the best and brightest talent, laying the foundation for the company’s incredible growth and success. ARCO completed its first year of business earning $9.5 million in revenue from both local and national projects. This marked the beginning of ARCO establishing itself as a leading, national design-build general contractor and the company’s continual revenue growth and affiliate model expansion. Since then, ARCO has grown to include 48 offices in major markets across the U.S. and over $6 billion in annual revenue.

Core Purpose & Values

At ARCO, our mission remains unchanged from when we were founded over 30 years ago. We strive to provide top-notch service, quality, and competitive pricing while upholding the highest ethical standards. We support and challenge our associates, treat vendors with respect, and aim to help our customers succeed, believing our own success will follow.

Make the construction process enjoyable and beneficial for our associates and our customers.

Treat people fairly and do the right thing.

Understand our customers’ businesses and solve their problems.

Be positive, upbeat, and have fun.

Create individual financial opportunities based on merit.

Proud to Be 100% Employee Owned

ARCO is proud to be a 100% employee-owned company. Through our Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), each associate holds a stake in the company, placing the benefits of ARCO’s success directly in those who drive it, reflecting the entrepreneurial model the company was founded on. As employee owners, ARCO associates are deeply vested in every decision, project, and client partnership we build over time. Beyond pride in ownership, this reflects our commitment to making the construction process enjoyable for our associates and clients.

COMMITTED TO OUR COMMUNITIES

ARCO is committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work and the causes our associates care about. Whether it’s a food drive or an enterprise-wide fundraising campaign for cancer research, ARCO provides associates with easy and fun ways to support their communities. ARCO also encourages associates to get involved with the charities of their choice by offering five days of paid leave each year to perform volunteer work and through a dollar-for-dollar matching gift program.

Fostering Inclusion in Construction

ARCO is committed to fostering a workplace culture that is inclusive, diverse, and supportive for all associates. That’s why we established employee resource groups like our Women’s Network and Veterans Network that serve as vital pillars in cultivating an inclusive environment and a sense of community within the workplace.

ARCO WOMEN'S NETWORK

ARCO recognizes the invaluable contributions of the talented women in construction who enrich every aspect of our business and contribute significantly to our growth and success. ARCO’s Women’s Network was established to support and empower women in construction, both inside and outside of our organization. The network fosters inclusion and diversity within the construction industry through initiatives like associate resource and support programs, Women in Construction Week events, support of women engineering groups on college campuses, supporting women-owned businesses, and more.

Growing up, I used to visit jobsites with my dad, who was a Project Manager in the construction industry. I remember visiting the Metropolitan Square building in downtown St. Louis and deciding I wanted to build things. Ultimately, I chose a career in construction because I enjoy delivering great projects to satisfied clients. As a woman in construction, I work to ensure no one knows my project better than I do. I’m committed to understanding every detail, so I can gain the trust of the team it requires to run a successful job.

ARCO VETERANS NETWORK

ARCO deeply values the service and sacrifices made by our Veterans, and we understand that transitioning from military to civilian life can be a challenging process. The ARCO Veterans Network serves as a platform to assist, engage, and inform Veterans, connecting them with individuals who are available for support and understanding. Through initiatives such as communication with leadership, associate resource and support programs, and community involvement with organizations serving the needs of Veterans, the ARCO Veterans Network aims to cultivate an atmosphere of camaraderie, understanding, and mentorship that enables all Veterans to thrive within our organization.

As a Veteran, I’m proud to see how ARCO consistently demonstrates its dedication to Veterans, both within the company and beyond. From partnering with local organizations that support Veterans to creating opportunities to honor the service of associates’ friends and family, the ARCO Veterans Network is making a meaningful impact in the communities where we live and work.
