ARCO NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION BREAKS GROUND ON NEW VERNON COLD STORAGE FACILITY FOR REGENT COLD STORAGE

ARCO National Construction’s Pacific Coast division, based in Irvine, CA, has officially broken ground on a new 67,160 square-foot cold storage facility for Regent Cold Storage. Located at 5400 Alcoa Avenue in Vernon, CA, this state-of-the-art facility will feature a 40,377 square-foot -10°F freezer, a 6,972 square-foot dry warehouse, a 1,919 square-foot 35°F cooler, a 1,914 square-foot 45°F cooler, and blast freezing capabilities that can cool products from 40°F to 10°F within 48 hours. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for October 8, 2024, at 10 a.m.

Irwin Miller, President of Miller Enterprise Companies, stated, “Regent Cold Storage is the newest addition to Miller Enterprises and represents phase one of a multi-step master plan to develop a cutting-edge freezer, cooler, and dry storage facility. This state-of-the-art freezer will allow us to convert the freezer at our manufacturing plant across the street into increased production capacity, thereby optimizing both our production, packaging, and efficiency for Rose & Shore, Rite Way Meat Packers, and RBR Meat Co.”

“With the rising demand for modern cold storage space in Southern California due to aging infrastructure, ARCO is increasingly partnering with growing companies like Regent Cold Storage, which are investing in new facilities,” said Brian Westre, Vice President & Operating Partner at ARCO National Construction. “Our local Southern California team is excited to collaborate with Regent Cold Storage on this remarkable expansion and is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Vernon’s growth with another state-of-the-art facility.”

Additional features of the new facility will include a CO2 refrigeration system, a 45°F cold dock, insulated metal panel construction, and a 48-foot clear height. Site demolition is currently underway, with construction expected to be completed by Summer 2025.
