ARCO recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new 156,000 SF cold storage facility for repeat developer client, Weston, Inc.! The Cleveland Cold Storage project brings much-needed temperature-controlled space to the region and will provide customers with a full range of storage and distribution services. Neighboring Orlando Baking Company will occupy approximately 30,000 SF of the facility. The remaining space will be utilized by local, regional, national, and international processors, grocers, distributors, and more. Located on 17 acres along Cleveland’s Opportunity Corridor, the strategically placed facility will provide users with easy access to I-77 and I-490. It is also expected to bring approximately 70 new jobs to the local market.

The Cleveland Cold Storage project comes in response to a major need for cold storage distribution space in the local market. Northeast Ohio is home to a multi-billion-dollar food processing industry, with nearly 20 food processing companies located within close proximity to the jobsite alone. However, because of a significant lack of temperature-controlled assets, many companies are renting space in other markets such as Columbus and Harrisburg.

The state-of-the-art facility will feature 122,000 SF of -10°F freezer space, a 20,000 SF 34°F cold dock, and 10,000 SF of dry storage. Additional features include ALTA refrigeration penthouse units, 36’ clear height, 16 dock positions, and a 4,000 SF office.
