Designed and Built for Bar K Dog Park, this award-winning project is a 7,265 total square foot, 2-acre dog park and bar.
This innovative 7,300 SF bar and restaurant destination seamlessly integrates pet-friendly amenities with a vibrant social space, transforming the Missouri Riverfront Park under the Heart of America Bridge into an active urban attraction. Designed from repurposed shipping containers and wood flooring, the two-story venue includes a second-floor bar and rooftop terrace offering expansive views. The restaurant and bar area boast high-end finishes, with countertops carefully selected for both functionality and aesthetic appeal. A large outdoor beer garden, complete with performance space, creates a dynamic setting for community events and gatherings.
The two-acre, fenced dog park features thoughtfully designed amenities for pets, such as splash pools, climbing obstacles, and agility features, promoting active and social experiences for dogs. Additionally, the park includes multiple seating shelters and private spaces where owners can relax while their pets play. Full-service dog wash and grooming stations offer added convenience, enhancing the appeal for pet owners.
Accolades for the project underscore its unique impact and appeal, with awards including PETS+ Magazine’s America’s Coolest Stores (2019), the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City’s prestigious Cornerstone Award and People's Choice Award, Kansas City Business Journal’s Capstone Award in Retail, an Architecture, Construction & Design Award for Hospitality, and the Concrete Promotional Group’s Excellence in Concrete Award in the Recreation Category.
