ARCO and Performance Food Group/Vistar’s expansive project portfolio spans 40 high-performance food distribution facilities, totaling over 5.7 million SF across 21 states. These facilities are strategically designed to meet the demanding requirements of food storage and distribution. Key features include a range of temperature-controlled spaces, with coolers, freezers, and cold docks regulated from -10°F to 55°F to ensure optimal preservation for a variety of products, including specialized meat processing areas. Dry storage and battery charging stations also support extensive operations, enabling seamless workflow and product handling.

Constructed with either durable tilt-up or insulated metal panels, the facilities are built to last and equipped with advanced infrastructure for high-volume, long-term food distribution. Each site includes vehicle maintenance facilities, fuel islands, and truck washing stations to maintain fleet operations, as well as ammonia, freon, or CO2 cascade refrigeration systems featuring penthouse units and hanging evaporators, critical for consistent temperature management.

Safety and security are integral to these projects. Card access and comprehensive security systems are standard, as are FM-rated ESFR fire protection systems to safeguard personnel, equipment, and goods. Developed in collaboration with Scannell Properties and National Property Holdings, these facilities reflect the best in industry standards and design-build delivery, balancing functionality with resilience for a nationwide distribution network.
