100% of ARCO construction team personnel are certified in First Aid / CPR / AED and OSHA 10-hour at a minimum. Superintendents are also required to complete their 30-hour OSHA certification. Each year, ARCO team members complete hundreds of hours of additional safety training to enhance their knowledge of project-specific challenges.

ARCO believes in the importance of regular safety inspections so much that we created a proprietary app for our team to utilize on their sites. The 152-point checklist is designed to be comprehensive and is inclusive of all aspects of our high standards for safety.

Pre-job meetings are held with key subcontractors to plan upcoming work safety. ARCO’s extensive Safety Handbook is distributed and reviewed by all ARCO and subcontractor personnel, and a video introduction is required for all personnel prior to beginning work on a project.

Each year, ARCO’s safety department facilitates TRAIN SAFE, an incentivized training program covering dozens of project, site, and environmental-specific considerations. Projects and individuals are recognized through an ARCO Safe awards program for top performance.

ARCO can construct an extensive site-specific safety plan (SSSP) and emergency response plan for any project. The SSSP addresses key issues during construction operations, including fall protection, excavation cave-in protection, emergency response procedures, the federal OSHA crane standard, silica protection, electrical safety, and more.

ARCO utilizes and works with industry experts in Risk Engineering and Safety Loss Control to ensure complete compliance and safe practices on our job sites. By utilizing professional consultants from these groups, we ensure all new regulations are reviewed and implemented and that our training stays current.
